The Clark Fobes Eb Clarinet extensions do not extend the range of the Eb clarinet, rather the extension fits between the bell and the end of the clarinet adding a properly sized and positioned tone hole to produce the E/B twelfth. The result is the correction of certain intonation problems that are common on Eb clarinet as well as making the tone much smoother and more consistent across the entire range of the instrument.
